The School Press was up and running from December 1932 and operated out of a room opposite the Music School. Mr A S Baker was the first master in charge. Its last home was a room in the new classroom block, built when ‘The Fish’ public house was demolished in 1969. The pictures feature examples of the Printing Press output, from the booklet produced to be sold at the Printing Exhibition on Founder’s Day, 1949 in order to raise funds for a new Treadle-operated Printing machine to recital programmes, Christmas cards, fixture lists and much more; it was quite a production line. Founder's Day guests were often invited to work the printing machines and produce a sheet, such as the one shown here.
