The rather splendid Gymnastics Shield had been propped up in the C.C.F. Orderly office for quite some time. With the refurbishment of said office, a new home was needed for the shield. Researched, catalogued and cleaned, the shield has found a more appropriate home in the Gymnasium, alongside a plaque, with embedded photograph of the winning pair. Ralph Streatfeild-James Lowers 1909 and Walter Norman Leak St.John’s 1909 won the Public School Competition, held at The Army Gymnasium at Aldershot on Friday April 2nd, 1909.
(the spelling of Streatfeild is correct, double checked after questions asked about the i before the e).
