During the removal of a false wall, a copy of the Berkhamsted & District Gazette, was found. Dated 1st April 1988, it had been placed there with a note which reads – ‘This copy of Berkhamsted Gazette placed here on conversion of Classroom 10 to Stationery Store.’ It was signed by School staff and the contractors. The front page has three very interesting articles about the restoration of the Town Hall, Greene King brewers and the need for a town museum……… the last subject is still being addressed!
