The trophies pictured (two of four) are an additional part of R.G.Hodge’s story, which was featured on this website in 2015 and are a further donation from Mr Peter Hodge.

Two new books have been added to the collection of books written by OBs. ‘Some Schools’ by C.J. ‘Jonty’ Driver, Headmaster 1983-1989 and ‘Tom Stoppard’s Plays’ : Patterns of Plenitude and Parsimony by Nigel Purse OB Greenes, 1981.

We’ve had lots of lovely visitors this past couple of months, including Nancy Pitkin and Elaine Penn, both recording artists and descendants of William Pitkin (Headmaster 1636-1643.) They were in the U.K. performing and called on the off chance, to arrange a visit, as they were due to fly back to the U.S.A. They were very good company and conversation veered between many questions from them, about the School and a few from me about the Presidential elections, which were to take place the following day.
The delegates who have attended several of the various lunches in Old Hall recently, have needed no encouragement, to take a look around the Exhibition Room, which resulted in more questions and a couple of late returns to Old Hall !
A further Chapel Assembly project is being planned by one of our History teachers, who contacted the Archive to ask for information about our two First World War V.C.s.
The beginning of 2017 will hopefully see the completion of three small projects – the repair and display of a framed, stained glass, the fives artefacts display and the installation of the St George’s sign in St George’s houseroom.
Merry Christmas wishes from the Archive.
