Old Berkhamstedian rugby scarf, City tie

An Old Berkhamstedian ‘City tie’ with its distinctive stripes of gold, red and white on dark navy. Donated by Mike Horton OB Swifts, 1964. The tie was worn by Mike’s Grandfather, Alick C.Pratt OB, 1889.

As the O.B.A. was formed in 1892, Alick could well have been one of the Association’s earliest members, which would mean that the precious tie is more than a hundred years old.

The Old Berkhamstedian Rugby Club scarf, c.1930s, belonged to J.M.Watt OB Bees, 1921 and was donated by his son Robert M. Watt OB Bees, 1946.

J.M.Watt was a member of the School’s 1920 1st XV, and is the lad 3rd from the left, back row.
