This lovely green glass bottle, with the marble (quite a rarity), originally contained lemonade produced by a local firm –
H.Lee & Sons (Minerals) Ltd.
The business was run by Henry Lee and his sons Harvey and Frederick Harold. Started in the 1900s and trading until the early 1960s. The converted stable offices of the business are still in use today and located at the bottom of Three Close Lane (opposite the Rex Cinema).
This bottle was found whilst excavating the new Nash Harris building in 2011.
