This charming little book is one of a number of artefacts and documents donated to the Archive by Beatrix Hopkins, (widow of Antony Hopkins OB, Lowers 1938). It is entitled An Alpine Alphabet and details in alphabetical illustrations and rhyme, a trip organised by T.C.Fry (Headmaster 1889-1911) to Chamonix, Christmas 1903. The photo, one of several, shows the ladies of the party in long skirts and two of the fine illustrations, show staff and friends enjoying the snow and hospitality. The little book is annotated throughout by Major T.C. ‘Hoppy' Hopkins (Pupil 1889, Master, Housemaster, Bursar, O.B.A. President 1946).
