Alma Duncan Rafter or 'Polly' as she was fondly known, came to Berkhamsted School for Girls as Head of Art in 1960, enjoying 30 years of teaching before retiring in 1995. This trio of bears dressed in school suit, blue pinafore and lacrosse kit were given to the school by the Rafter family. They have been given the names Beatrice, Susan and Grace to correspond with the B.S.G. initials for the school and are on display in the Exhibition room.
